A walk through the history and nature of Almuñécar

Get ready for an exciting journey through Almuñécar, starting at Marina del Este, next to Aparcamiento Hotel. Walk behind the hotel to a small parking lot and turn left. Here begins an adventure that will take you to some of the most picturesque spots on the Almuñécar coast. A highlight of this walk is the breathtaking view from the lookout point at La Playa del Muerto, a quiet and secluded nude beach. The beach stretches for more than 400 meters and offers stunning views of the coastline. From here, continue your way to the picturesque Playa de Cotobro. Along the way, you can take a break at Parque Loro Sexi, a small bird park that houses lemurs, turtles and other animals in addition to parrots. The park also houses an impressive collection of cacti. Further on, you will discover the centuries-old Castillo de San Miguel, a protected monument with a rich history. The walk will also take you past Factoria de Salazones, an excavation site that probably dates back to the time of the ancient Romans or Arabs. Here you can let your imagination run wild as you explore the traces of ancient civilizations. In short, a walk full of historical treasures and the beautiful nature of Almuñécar awaits you!
