Friday, March 15: Writing contest for kids!

Friday, March 15 there is a special activity for little ones during the San José Fiestas in La Herradura: the XV edition of the children's writing contest "VIRANA". This year's theme is "Tribute to my grandparents".

At 10:30 a.m. gather the children in the Diego Martínez Auditorium of the Civic Center. There they get the chance to show their creativity and write their best stories about their grandparents.

Saturday, March 16: A day full of activities in La Herradura!

Saturday, March 16 is full of activities during the San José Fiestas in La Herradura. There is something for everyone, from sporting events to cultural performances and festive activities.

Morning:

• 10:00 am: Tennis tournament organized by Antonio Valero at the Las Palomas club.
• 10:00 am: III Walk Against Cancer. Registration at the Market Square. Departure at 10:00 a.m.
• 10:30 a.m: Facial x-ray, beauty routine and makeup workshop by "Clínica Barbero" in the Civic Center's Choir Room.
• 11:00 am: Traditional children's party with games and cucañas in the Plaza del Centro Cívico.
• 12:00 pm: Family bike ride organized by the La Herradura Cycling Association. Depart from the meeting point next to the Bambú Chiringuito.
• 12:00 pm: The Charanga "Llena que nos vamos" provides the musical ambiance.

Afternoon:

• 12:30 pm: Opening of the Photo Club's VI Photo Exhibition at the Municipal Market.
• 1:30 p.m.: Opening of the Day Fair with DJ Spiry at the Castle of La Herradura. Bus service is available from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• 5:30 pm: Ping pong tournament organized by Antonio Valero at the Club Las Palomas.
• 7:30 pm: Flamenco performance of "Bahía Flamenca" directed by Geno Rodríguez in the Civic Center's "Diego Martínez" Auditorium.

Evening:

• 8 p.m: Grand inaugural parade of the San José festivities featuring "Las Princesas Golosinas." Departure from the Las Maravillas Sports Center, via Rambla del Espinar, Avda Prieto Moreno and Paseo Andrés Segovia to the fairgrounds.
• 21:00: Inauguration of the fairgrounds and party lights, with the "Candy Princesses."
• 10 p.m: Inauguration of the "Caseta del Mayor" "Pepe Gámez" at the Civic Center with the "Ancoda Show" and Spanish wine tasting.
• 00:30: Popular festival featuring the orchestra "La Tentación" and DJ Charly Ro in the official festival booth at the Castle of La Herradura.

Sunday, March 17: A sporty and musical day in La Herradura!

Sunday, March 17 is all about sports and music during the San José Fiestas in La Herradura. There are several tournaments, a spectacular horse ribbon race and a concert by none other than CHENOA.

Morning:

• 10:00 am: Soccer 7-a-side coexistence tournament for the Pre-Benjamín, Benjamín and Alevín categories.
• 10:00 am: Finals of the Paddle Tournament organized by Las Palomas Paddle Club.
• 10:30 a.m: First experience in Jábega for children and adults, organized by rowing club "Piratas de Calaiza".

Afternoon:

• 12:00 pm: Pickleball tournament organized by Antonio Valero at Club Las Palomas.
• 12:00 pm: Exhibition of model aircraft by the Costa Tropical Aeromodeling Club at Carboneras beach.
• 1:00 pm: Day fair with DJ Spiry at the Castle of La Herradura. Bus service is available from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• 4:00 pm: Horseback riding ribbon race organized by the Peña Ecuestre de La Herradura on the Carboneras beach.

Evening:

• 6 p.m: Children's musical "The Princess of Light" at the "Diego Martínez" venue. Tickets to be collected at the mayor's office of La Herradura.
• 10 p.m: "Caseta del Mayor" "Pepe Gámez" room at the Civic Center with the Rociero Choir "Cosas Nuestras" and "Show Ancoda."
• 11:30 pm: Concert of CHENOA at the official festival booth in the Castle of La Herradura.
• 01:30 am: Folk festival with DJ Oscar Martínez and DJ Charly Ro in the official festival booth. Bus service will be available from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Monday, March 18: A day of tradition, music and fireworks!

Monday, March 18 is a day of tradition, music and fireworks during the San José Fiestas in La Herradura. There is something for everyone, from children's games to a flamenco festival and a spectacular fireworks show.

Morning:

• 8:00 am: Fishing contest with prizes for winners and largest catch. Barbecue at the end on Playa del Carbón. Register by calling 685 593 401 (Manuel).

Afternoon:

• 11:00 am: Great children's games with ludo, bowling, goose and more in the Plaza de la Independencia.
• 1:30 p.m.: Day fair with DJ Spiry at the Castle of La Herradura. Bus service is available from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• 4:00 pm: Traditional horse ribbon race and ribbon race on Calle Real. Accompanied by the Charanga "Llena que nos vas" and the giants and big heads. Prizes for the winners.

Evening:

• 6 p.m: Floral offering in honor of San Jose. Departure from the Civic Center. Participation in flamenco costume is welcome.
• 7 pm: Holy Mass at the San José Church, accompanied by the "Cosas Nuestras" choir.
• 10 p.m: Amazing pyro-musical fireworks show by "Pirotecnia Zaragozana". A unique fusion of light, sound and music.
• 10:30 pm: "Caseta del Mayor" "Pepe Gámez" room at the Civic Center with Miguel Moreno, Carlos Neyall and "Show Ancoda."
• 11 p.m: Urban Flamenco festival and popular festival with orchestra "La Tentación" and DJ Spiry in the official festival booth at La Herradura Castle. Bus service is available from 21:00 to 05:00.

Tuesday, March 19: The apotheosis of the San Jose Festivities!

Tuesday, March 19 is the last day of the San José Fiestas in La Herradura, and it promises to be a spectacular day with a Holy Mass, a procession, a concert and a big party.

Morning:

• 9:00 am: Chimes from the church of San Jose in honor of Patron's Day.

Afternoon:

• 12:00 pm: Holy Mass in honor of St. Joseph, with musical accompaniment by the "Bahía de la Herradura" choir directed by Algis Zaboras.
• 12:30 pm: Concert in the Plaza de la Iglesia de San José by the municipal band of Almuñécar.
• 1:00 pm: Day fair with DJ Spiry at the Castle of La Herradura. Bus service is available from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Evening:

• 8 p.m: Solemn procession in honor of San José, the patron saint of La Herradura. The procession goes through the streets of the village and is accompanied by the musical group "Our Lady of the Incarnation."
• After the procession: Popular party with orchestra "La Tentación" and DJ Charly Ro in the official festival booth at the Castle of La Herradura. Bus service is available from 21:00 to 05:00.

The San José Fiestas in La Herradura are a week of fun and activities for young and old. From March 15 to 19, you can enjoy sports, music, tradition, gastronomy and fireworks.
